Training & Vocational Assistance
We offer financial assistance for vocational training that focus on specialized programs that have demonstrated a bright career outlook.
Work Experience
Work Experience (WEX) offers up to 200 hours of Paid Work Experience at no cost to the employer.
College Related Assistance
Youth participants can receive assistance enrolling into a college.
C.A.T.S
CATS is program designed to offer young adults the opportunity to establish a Career Pathway to successful employment.
Readiness Workshops
We provide readiness workshops that prepare jobseekers to excel in modern-day workforce.
Performance Menu and VIP Incentive Program
Young adults enrolled in WIOA services can tap into monetary incentives in honor of their short- and long-term achievements.
Foster2SocialWork
The Foster2SocialWork (F2SW) Program is a collaboration between SELACO WDB and NASW-CA. SELACO WDB has partnered with the NASW-CA to offer foster and/or former foster youth between the ages of 18-24 the opportunity to explore a career pathway into the field of Social Work while also gaining work readiness skills.

Target Population
Who are WIOA eligible, this includes:
- Age 16-24.
- And, has one or more of the following barriers:

- A school dropout.
- A youth who is within the age of compulsory school attendance, but has not attended school for at least the most recent complete school year calendar quarter.
- A recipient of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent who is a low-income individual and is either basic skills deficient or an English language learner.
- An individual who is subject to the juvenile or adult justice system.
- A homeless individual, a runaway, and individual who is in foster care or has aged out of foster care system, a child eligible for assistance under section 477 of the Social Security Act, or an individual who is in an out-of-home placement.
- An individual who is pregnant or parenting.
- An individual with a disability.
- A low-income individual who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an education program or to secure or hold employment.
Training and Vocational Assistance
We offer financial assistance for vocational training that focuses on specialized programs that have demonstrated a bright career outlook. SELACO WDB can assist individuals with the cost of vocational training. Trainings must be approved by our vendor and lead to gainful employment. Individuals will research the career of interest and complete a career plan.
CATS
Youth@Work
Youth@Work provides work experience with a comprehensive personal enrichment training component. To qualify you must be between the ages of 14-24, be a Los Angeles County resident and have the right to work in the United States.
The Youth at work program consists of 20 hours of Personal Enrichment training that is delivered in-person, virtually or hybrid, and 140 hours of work experience. There is priority youth populations for this program. Priority youth populations are school dropout, CalWORKs, Probation, Foster, Homeless, transition-aged youth (TAY), Low-Income households, LGBTQ, an offender, pregnant or parenting, have a disability, children of immigrant families, or are an English language learner.
